Art Classes for kids by Susan Westly Wren

We offer After-School Art Classes for children aged 7 to 18. Classes run for 10 - 12 weeks in the fall and again in the winter/spring. Our schedule includes classes in drawing, painting, mask making, printing, sculpting, weaving and much more. We focus on teaching classical to contemporary methods for doing art and thinking about art. Children of all levels can excel in this program and have fun doing it.
Our studio is at 72 Front Street, Suite 16, in Bath.
Classes begin again on September 28, 2010. Students choose between Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. We generally try to offer a teen class on one of those days. Classes are $18 each and include all materials.
Here are the specific dates:
Sept. 28, 29, 30 - Drawing - 2D, line, graphite and ink
Oct. 5, 6, 7 - Drawing - 3D, volume, form, perspective
Oct. 12, 13, 14 - Watercolor
Oct. 19, 20, 2 - Mask/Headress Making 1
Oct. 26, 27, 28 - Mask/Headress Making 2
Nov. 2, 3, 4 - Mask/Headress Making 3
Nov. 9, 10, 11 - Nature Printing on fabric/paper
Nov. 16, 17, 18 - Nature Printing 2
(No classes Thanksgiving week)
Nov. 30, Dec. 1 - Bookmaking 1 - with our printed fabric/paper
Dec. 7, 8, 9 - Bookmaking 2 and Wrap Up
This is a ten week term for $180 per student. Advance registration is required and payment can be made in two parts if requested. This year we are offering 10% off the total fee for advance payment. Please call for more information or to register, 371-9106.
We are now also offering Adult Art Workshops on Saturdays.
